What exactly is telesales?

In my opinion it is cleverly using the telephone to pro-actively call new or existing customers either business to business or business to consumer and try and influence their buying behaviour.

It can be used to do almost anything in my book and really does deliver an extremely cost effective way of bringing in new business in almost all walks of life.
